Origin
About the name
Before knowing anything, knowing the origin of the disease is a must. SARS-CoV is the name of the virus in the discussion.
Also, Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus is what SARS-CoV stands for. So in simple terms, the virus is called coronavirus.
So, the term ‘Corona’ was first coined by June Almeida and David Tyrrell. Also, the virus’s structure resembles that of a crown, so the name coronavirus.
Place of origin
Coronavirus finds its origin from China. There are, although, various schools of thought that ascertain the origin of the virus. The virus came into existence in late 2019 and, thus, was first detected at the Huanan seafood market in Wuhan, China.
Also, some say that the virus emerged in a laboratory. Therefore, it might be through the manipulation of a related SARS-CoV-like coronavirus.
Thus, implying that the development of the disease is an experimental error. But, there is no proof to support this claim as of now.
Most scientists and the World Health Organization state that the virus’s genome is similar to that of a bat. So, pointing out that the virus has a natural origin and is not an experimental error.
Both theories have no proof in their support and the research is still in progress.
About the virus
It is because of coronavirus that the World is struggling. So, the scientific name of coronavirus is SARS-CoV-2. Also, Coronaviruses (CoVs) come from a large family of viruses. These viruses are, thus, famous for causing respiratory diseases in humans.
Coronavirus occurs in four more categories such as alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-CoV. So, the ones responsible for infecting humans come from alpha- or the beta-CoV. Also, a majority of them might infect animals as well.

The symptoms of Coronavirus
So, post the discussion about the virus the discussion about its symptoms is a must. Fever, dry cough, and a feeling of tiredness are the most common symptoms of coronavirus.
So, patients sometimes experience aches and pains, nasal congestion, sore throat, or diarrhea.
Who all are at risk?
Firstly, elderly people, along with the ones with preexisting medical conditions like high blood pressure, heart and lung problems, diabetes, or cancer, have more risk of developing a serious illness. Therefore it should be ensured that they are kept in isolation.
However, this disease has spared none.
Those who possess very mild symptoms of coronavirus may act as carriers and thus transmitting the virus to others.
It is advisable that who so ever experiences fever, cough, and difficulty breathing should immediately seek medical attention.

Testing for Coronavirus
Detection of a disease for further cure and prevention is necessary. Coronavirus is detected in the following ways:
- Swab Test: A special swab is inserted into the nose or throat and a sample is subsequently taken.
- Nasal Aspirate: Injecting a saline solution into a patient’s nose and, a light suction is, therefore, used to take the sample.

- Sputum Test: A patient must cough sputum in a special cup or a swab the sample is thus taken from the patient’s nose. Sputum is a thick mucus that gets accumulated in the lungs.
- Blood test: Here the blood sample of the patient is, thus, taken from a vein in the arm.
- Also, the rapid test has been started in which samples are collected from the nose, throat, and lungs.
